More ex-NFL players sue league over concussions

“WANTING their players on the field instead of training tables, and in an attempt to protect a multibillion dollar business, the NFL has purposefully attempted to obfuscate the issue and has repeatedly refuted the connection between concussions and brain injury…,” the lawsuit charges.

A 2000 survey of more than 1,000 former NFL players found that more than 60 per cent had suffered at least one concussion, while 26 per cent had suffered three or more during their careers, according to the lawsuit. Continue reading

Tony Dorsett, other ex-players suing NFL for negligence

Players state that they carried owners to their profits, in an industry that now has more than $9 billion in annual revenues, without the safety nets of guaranteed contracts or lifetime medical insurance. They demand that owners be held to account.

Tony Dorsett of the Dallas Cowboys, who ran for 12,739 yards, the eighth-highest total in NFL history, has joined other ex-players to sue the league.
