Owen Gibson (Nov. 5) – Claims that a disgraced former Fifa executive turned FBI informant used a bugging device to record meetings with colleagues at the London 2012 Olympics have led to calls for the Serious Fraud Office to investigate world football’s governing body. The allegations, part of an investigation into Chuck Blazer by the New York Daily News, prompted the Conservative MP Damian Collins to renew his call for the SFO to investigate long-standing bribery and money-laundering allegations surrounding Fifa.

The Guardian (Sept 25, 2013) – DOZENS of Nepalese migrant labourers have died in Qatar in recent weeks and thousands more are enduring appalling labour abuses, a Guardian investigation has found, raising serious questions about Qatar’s preparations to host the 2022 World Cup.
According to Nick Clegg, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and a vicious supporter of the regime change wars in Libya and Syria, which claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, it is “unthinkable” that Russia should host the World Cup in 2018 because pro-Russian separatist rebels have been accused by the US-NATO military bloc of shooting down the Malaysia Airlines airplane.
Yet, it was quite acceptable for the United Kingdom, which is responsible for (not accused of) the killing of over 1000 000 Afghans, Iraqis, Libyans, and destroying THREE countries, to have hosted the Olympic Games in 2012!! Continue reading
